Mariza, the Queen of Fado, is in Montreal this autumn for a unique concert during her new World Tour. After a short pause to embrace her new motherhood, she who charmed spectators wherever she performed with her sensual voice, is finally back on stage, more cogent than ever, honoring her diva title. Mariza, World Tour 2013 to be be presented at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier of Place des Arts on Saturday October 19th, 2013 at 8pm.
Accompanied by a traditional Portuguese guitar and drums trio, Mariza performs the very best of Fado, in her inimitable style. With spirit and a grand finesse, Mariza heavenly gives a new breath of life to this traditional Portuguese music in which she has been immersed since birth.
In this new eponymous show, the renowned Fadista interprets some of the more beautiful pieces of her repertory such as Primavera, Beijo de Saudade and Uma musica do povo, alongside songs never yet sung on stage, as well as a selection of works of remarkable artists who have influenced her through time. A show promising surprises and grand moments, be it for the novice or the connoisseur, one will be carried away by the power of this magisterial voice that absolutely has to be (re)discovered!
