Roscoe Mitchell is a pillar of the avant-garde and jazz world. Founder of the legendary avant-jazz group Art Ensemble of Chicago and early member of the AACM, he is also a renowned jazz multi-instrumentalist, a respected composer and an esteemed educator. His work with the Art Ensemble and his important collaborations with artists such as Muhal Richard Abrams, Anthony Braxton and George Lewis have repeatedly shown him as an iconoclastic artist who restlessly seeks new musical horizons. Suoni Per Il Popolo and Traquen’Art are proud to present a rare solo performance by this great American composer and instrumentalist.
Bryan Highbloom is a Montreal musician and music therapist who has performed in Nouveau Jazz Libre du Quebec and the Ratchet Orchestra. Highbloom was an original member of the Atelier de musique expérimentale (AME), an influential 1970’s Montreal improvised music presentation and performance collective.
